Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic adventure. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell took a full year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to improve the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to be in a position to share her passion for food with other people.
